Matias Herrera - Founder

Matías Herrera’s journey has taken him from volleyball courts to professional soccer in Chile, collegiate and semi-professional competition in the United States, and the international stage. Through every chapter, one belief has shaped his approach: for goalkeepers, small details make the difference.

Volleyball gave him an early foundation in coordination and reading the game. Soccer turned those skills into a career, competing in Chile’s First and Second Divisions and international tournaments including the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana. In the United States, he earned starting roles, championships, and individual honors while adapting to new demands and styles of play.

His experience also includes playing for RANIZA FC in Mexico’s Kings League and representing City Soccer FC at TST 2026. In January 2026, he represented Chile at the Kings World Cup Nations, where he was named MVP – Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.

Now in his fourth season as goalkeeper coach at West Valley College, Matías brings the perspective of an active competitor into his coaching. He understands the pressure of the position, the importance of playing with confidence, and the preparation required to make decisive moments count.

That experience is the foundation of Psico Goalkeeper Training. Built around technical precision, game understanding, mentality, and consistency, Psico helps goalkeepers connect their training to real match situations. Matías’s goal is to develop keepers who understand the decisions behind every action, trust their preparation, and bring their own fearless identity to the position.
